Power breaks: ============= 18 June 1999, A power break last night (ca 22 UT or 24 LT) caused the power supply in the Ailtech synthesizer to fail. 16 July 1999, Thunder and lightning. Power break after 21:55UT sounding. 24 Dec 1999, Power break between 6 and 7 UT (7-8 LT). About 8 May 2000, Power break 9 July 2000: probably between 04:54:29 and 05:04:00 UT (=06:54-07:04 LT) short power break (HV went off but sounder kept running). EISCAT confirms (Hub room, fire alarm etc) power break between Sat 8 July and Monday morning 10 July. However perhaps it was soon after 18.UT since Digisonde last ionogram was from 18 UT, all Monday. 10 Feb 2001 =========== 2001/02/10-15:20:16 Utility failure 2001/02/10-15:20:43 Utility restored 14 Feb 2001 =========== Storm. "Power break" at ca. 11:30 UT. It was actually low voltage (ca 100 V) on one phase, about 325 V on another and 380 V on another. 13:23:56 UT Full power off. 14:08:32 UT power back on. The "usual" Ground current fault happened: Once early June, and again 16 June 15:37:54 Utility failure. 11 Feb 2004 =========== at 08:02 UT the ground current fault on breaker 3 again (covers circuits 9-18). It will not let itself be reset for many minutes, even switching off all breakers 9-18 and lights. Then suddenly it works again. UPS keeps dynamite running. 20 Feb 2004 =========== At 08:03 UT (strange-same time as last time ?) the ground current fault on breaker 3 again (covers circuits 9-18). Around 08:17 UT it was discovered and it could be switched on again. 29 March 2004 ============= another gnd fault breaker (#3) just before 03:45 UT. After resetting about 06:30 UT, it went again at about 07:30 UT Many Ground fault breaks in May/June 2004 Last on 23 June 2004, after 10:29 UT but before 10:33 UT 2004 ========= New circuit breakers (19 and 20) installed and whole new mains course to the important areas. January 2005 ============ Breaker 19 (new one) had tripped. 31 January 2005 =============== Short mains break at about 19:22 UT. 1 Feb 2005: ========== Installed latest version of MGE solution pack for the UPS. 22 Dec 2006: ======== 2.1 hour break from 22:40 UT 24 Feb 2007 ============= A small glitch which didn't affect Heating or the dynasonde but caused the EISCAT control room to have a blackout. On the morning of Saturday 24 Feb there was no connection from Tromso to the computers at EISCAT, so I went out to investigate. There had apparently been several short decreases in voltage (brownouts) that morning, but not a full power break, according to Satanori at Heating. This is confirmed by the fact that the dynasonde HV relay, which is rather sensitive to power glitches, was in fact still on. But the EISCAT control room was completely dead. I reset the breaker on the wall and most things came to life again. There must still be a circuit off since the user hard-disks and computer are still off. Even though the equipment at Heating did not stop, the site power monitoring does stop while the EISCAT contol-room does not deliver the time. The rack next to the seldon console has a switch with a noisy fan after power up, but then the sound goes away. The UPS lights were OK, and the klystron vac-ion pump shows 2 on the meter. 14 March 2007 ------------- Planned power break 15:23 to 16:47 UT 16 April 2007 ------------ Power break about 10:00 to 10:27 UT 26 June 2007 ------------ Unexpected power break from 13:08:22 UT to 13:23:24 UT. 11 July 2007: ------------ Scheduled power break from 22:00 UT until 06:00 UT on 12 July. In fact it was from 22:00:42 until about 01:20 UT. 07 Sept 2007: ------------- 06:30 UT Short unexpected (how short ?) power break. It caused EISCAT generator to start, move array switches and switch off dynasonde HV (but not filaments). Heatpc was also rebooted. Nothing was noted in the Heating UPS log.
